Barry Wurst wanted to become a film critic at the age of 10 years old after seeing "Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold." His first publication was "Barry's Picks" at Videoland & TV. When he was 30, his dream of becoming a professional film critic came true when Maui Time Weekly began publishing his weekly reviews. Since then, Barry has consistently written and taught film history to jr. High up through college. His passion for sharing film has taken him from radio as "The Professor" to podcasts and television. Barry founded the Hawaii Film Critics Society in 2015. He also writes poetry and finished his first novel about growing up in the Valley Isle, Maui.
