Working in Investment Research Content (IRC), job duties involve proofreading transcripts of financial earnings calls and other types of financial events for style, spelling, grammar and accuracy. As a member of a two-person team with a Voicewriter, I use proprietary techniques and software to produce transcripts that are verbatim and fact checked, and have a very fast turnaround time between the start of the call and the publishing of the transcript. To accomplish these tasks, I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software to complete the first phase of transcription. While listening to a streaming audio file, I receive text streamed from the Voicewriter. I then edit the text further to produce the final version. I also have other production-related job duties throughout the year, such as auditing other transcripts for accuracy and maintaining a research database.
