One month into the project the Nadi floods occurred, which resulted in around 10,000 people becoming homeless. The WFP was responsible for the logistics coordination and supporting the local National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) with all of its logistical needs. I worked closely with locals and on many occasions visited the affected areas to assist the people there.
