Cretecs, het expertisecentrum voor zorgtechnologie, is verbonden aan de Katholieke Hogeschool Vives en stelt zich tot doel het ontwikkelen, het verspreiden en het informeren van praktische toepasbare kennis inzake het inzetten van technologische (hulp)middelen in de zorg gerelateerde projecten. Cretecs richt zich daarbij op het geven van advies opdat de aanbieders van zorg hun diensten optimaal kunnen afstemmen op de vraag van hun cliënten. Dit gebeurt door de behoeften van alle actoren die in het zorgproces zijn betrokken, zo nauwkeurig mogelijk in kaart te brengen om op die manier het best passende aanbod te vinden.Het beoogde resultaat moet de kwaliteit van de zorg zo goed mogelijk waarborgen en de autonomie van mensen met beperkingen of chronische aandoeningen zoveel mogelijk garanderen.

In-HAM wants to create a reciprocity between technology (of construction, mobility, communication, home systems etc.) and the solution that assistive technology supplies for the disabled and elderly person. The main objective is to stimulate the way to live independent in daily situations.In-HAM is an innovation centre by which, in consultation with the industry, research is executed on existing and new assistive technology, taking into consideration the critical evaluation of the user and the therapist.Involved in following projects:- AMIE-ITEA project, Ambient Intelligence for the Elderly (EU ITEA2-Project)- Research project for the development of a model for the evaluation of the accessibility, fire safety and evacuation for people with disabilities in hotels and restaurants (IWT-project)- CompanionAble, Development of an integrated robotics and automation system for elderly suffering with MCI (EU 7KP-project)- Flemish Network 'Barrier-Free Construction' (VNTB)- Co-author info brochure integrated living and housing automation (VISTIS-project)- Feasibility study Center of Expertise Assistive Technology (IWT)
