Studio Lawrence designs and produces quality furniture for the project and residential markets, using high quality materials and the best in European manufacturing to create enduring and timeless pieces. Studio Lawrence was founded in 2007 by the internationally acclaimed design duo Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eyking. Their play with varying tactile surfaces and depths, sequences and composition has created unique dynamic pieces that have gained constant media attention and won numerous international awards including two US Interior Design magazine Best of Year Awards, the 40under40 Award for the most promising European designers, two Interior Innovation Awards and the prestigious Good Design Award.Most of the furniture is modular, flexible and part of an extensive program allowing designers and consumers to customize the pieces to their specifications. Designers and consumers can easily adapt, engage and play with the pieces.

Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eyking met at university, after graduating in Architecture in 1996 and completing a combined tour of some of the Netherlands’ finest architectural practices, they founded eijkingdelouwere in 2004. To fulfill their dream, a present day combination of craftsmanship and the arts, they established Studio Lawrence in 2007.Their work has gained consistent media attention and much acclaim within the industry; the duo first winning runner-up in the famed Europan 5 competition for young architects, followed closely by first prize in the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects Competition in 2001. Most recently they have won two Interior Design Best Of Year Awards in 2006 and a Merit Best Of Year Award in 2007 for product design, subsequently establishing their furniture brand, Studio Lawrence, in 2007.

Responsible for designing new buildings, extensions and alterations to existing buildings, advising on the restoration and conservation of old properties. Working closely with clients and users to make sure that projected designs match their needs and are functional, safe and economical. Developing ideas with the client, establishing budgets, assessing the needs of the building and its users, and its impact within the local environment. Controlling projects from start to finish and work with a number of construction professionals, including surveyors and engineers, producing drawings and specifications that the construction team works to. Assisting with site selection and work closely with contractors on site, ensuring that works are carried out to specific standards and the building is sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

A declaration by the spatial planning aldermen of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht regarding future urban development in The Netherlands. The cooperation between the four aldermen, which started in 1996, resulted in a common declaration concerning the strategy to transform the Randstad to a city region of international size: a European Deltametropolis. The central concept in this strategy is growth. The development of the Deltametropolis is seen as a proces of growth which, from a historical viewpoint, already started centuries ago. During the second half of the 20th century an acceleration occurs and the birth of the European Union provides yet another stimulus.Instrumental in the development and implementation of the vision for the Deltametropolis of late prof. ir.
