Breda Game City is a non-profit organization that focuses on elevating the Breda video games industry and creating a professional, healthy & creative environment. As chair I hope to connect and preserve the diverse gaming community within Breda.

It is part of my job to seek opportunities of growth and improvement within the farmshop, whether that's looking for a better price-quality ratio or growing the monthly revenue. It remains the challenge to be as personal as we are, but also to be as smart as other grocery shops that lack that personal approach to their customers. A one time customer is nice, but one that returns every week that's the goal!

Als adjunct-secretaris van de Universiteitsraad van Tilburg mag ik hen ondersteunen in het belangrijke werk dat zij doen. Ook mag ik in mijn functie de Tilburg Young Academy verder vormgeven en hen bijstaan in het werk dat zij voor jonge academici doen. Onwijs blij om weer in het onderwijs werkzaam te zijn, want vrij en wetenschappelijk onderzoek is niet overal vanzelfsprekend.

This thought, shared by Josef Lentsch on a cab ride in Berlin 2019, was the birth hour of our ambitious initiative.Now, it is becoming a reality. A European Capital of Democracy will be designated for every year, starting in January 2023 – as a Europe-wide initiative for strengthening democracy.In cooperation with civil society and citizens, the designated city will curate, organise, and implement a wide range of activities and events. Visitors from all over Europe will be invited to observe and to participate in these efforts.At the July 2022 deadline date for submissions, 22 cities* from 11 countries have responded to the call and applied for the nomination to become the first European Capital of Democracy (ECoD).Democracy is our safest bet to protect our planet, restore peace, and secure a safe and prosperous future for us and our children. Become a Citizens’ Juror now and play a crucial role in strengthening and securing Europe’s democratic future!

In recent years I have also delved more into the world of tech, data analytics, privacy and AI, therefore I will also pay extra attention to my portfolios of Spatial Planning, neighborhood approach, municipal real estate, administrative renewal, accessibility and the Omgevingswet regarding these matters. For example, you can make spatial planning even more transparent with the help of tech and digital systems, or you can visualize and process traffic movements using data analytics. Good policy is fed by reliable and quantifiable data. The Digital System is also of great importance for the implementation of the Omgevingswet, how does this take shape? But the question whether everyone can join the digitization effort is also a legitimate one!Finally, my agricultural background has a special place and from that angle I will also continue to look at how we can continue to move to a vital rural area with today's opportunities, where a vibrant rural area is paramount and abandoned empty buildings and criminality are being countered! As part of the city council of Breda, I hope to bring people together and look at the policies with a critical eye. As such I am humbled and honored to get to know my city in a way that is unique for many reasons.

It is part of my job to lead and manage a team of talented young students who are tutoring and supporting high school children with their studyskills and homework. Lyceo provides homework assistance, tutoring, and examtraining for all ages. We make sure that high schools can focus on what they're good at by complementing schools in terms of support for students. Wat heb ik veel mogen leren bij deze groep mensen. Maar ik ben ook blij dat ik af en toe het out of the box denken aan tafel heb mogen brengen.

Als stagiair heb ik me bezig gehouden met de Omgevingswet en de gevolgen hiervan voor het waterschap. Wat verandert er voor beleidsstukken en wat voor de samenwerkingen? Met deze vraagstellingen heb ik mijn scriptie dan ook ingericht.

Als assessor zorg ik voor enkele activiteiten voor op de reis naar Antwerpen en Berlijn. Ook onderhoud ik het contact met de geschiedenis in de steden aldaar. Daarnaast ben ik ook ondersteund voor de gehele commissie en spring ik bij waar nodig.

Als Assessor Extern van de Historische Studievereniging Leiden, ben ik de persoon die contacten onderhoudt buiten de vereniging en die actief opzoek gaat naar sponsoren en tot slot de HSVL nog beter op de kaart te zetten.

Het ondersteunen van de Kleine Reis van de Historische Studievereniging Leiden. Dit jaar zijn we naar Luxemburg en Parijs geweest en hebben daar een sterk educatief en leerzaam programma gevolgd. Daarnaast hebben we ook zeker van de lokale cultuur geproefd!! In mijn hoedanigheid als assessor heb ik contact gelegd met bedrijven voor excursies en voor een proeverij.

Als voorzitter van SGN tracht ik de belangen van de geschiedenis studenten van Nederland te verdedigen, de contacten tussen studieverenigingen der geschiedenis te versterken en samen met de rest van het SGN bestuur gaan we er een mooi jaar van maken.

Als commissievoorzitter heb ik de commissie Breda van de Jonge Democraten Brabant geleid naar een jaar met veel politiek inhoudelijke activiteiten. Het streven was om zoveel mogelijk mensen binnen mijn commissie het gevoel te geven dat zij iets kunnen bijdragen. Daarnaast was ik vanuit mijn functie ook de contact persoon met diverse sprekers en locaties voor de evenementen. ............................................................Door voorzitter van de afdeling Jonge Democraten Brabant: Bart heeft bij de Jonge Democraten Brabant als voorzitter van de commissie Breda zijn enthousiasme voor het politieke speelveld met veel mensen gedeeld. Hij is sterk in het betrekken van anderen in de ideeënvorming voor activiteiten. Dergelijke activiteiten, zoals lezingen, wist hij telkens op korte termijn te realiseren waardoor de politieke inhoud met regelmaat aansloot op de actualiteit. Bart is erg actiegericht, wat goed van pas komt bij de functie van commissievoorzitter.

D66 Breda, heeft verschillende denktanks opgestart om mee te helpen denken over de toekomst van onze mooie stad Breda. Het past ook goed bij de speerpunten van D66 zoals meer democratie. En wat is er nu meer democratischer dan burgers die meekunnen denken en doen over de toekomst van de stad. En dit allemaal op vrijwillige basis!
