I have worked as a software engineer, system and network administrator, and as a consultant on high-tech and tech-business matters for technology companies, law firms, and others. I have about 25 years' experience in professional computing, and about 20 as an educator in this area.I am currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Portland State University and Faculty with the Oregon Master of Software Engineering Program. My research area of interest is primarily open technology: I am the Faculty Advisor to the Portland State Aerospace Society, and am doing research in Open Software-Defined Radio. I also do work in computer security, focusing on sensitive-but-unclassified information policy and management. My Ph.D. is in Artificial Intelligence, and I have active research in state-space and adversary search and in machine learning.My micro-business, bart-massey.com LLC, has been primarily focused on technology consulting and contracting, including a 2005 NASA SBIR contract to develop AI for aerospace.
