Loader Operator For Asphalt Plant And Main Line CrewS2 Contractors 2009 - 2011Lake Havasu City, AzMy duties consisted of operating Volvo L70 loader loading different grades of materials into Almix asphalt plant and doing routine maintenance on the plant when needed. This included replacing warn and damaged parts such as bearings, conveyor belts, pug mill rotors, veins inside the mixing drum, trunnions for which the drum rotated on, repairing or replacing any and all air actuators to insure proper functionality while the plant was up and running. Any malfunction in any of these systems components would have a huge ripple effect on the entire operation, from the trucks sitting idle, to the crew that was laying the asphalt, costing the company large amounts of money for any "down time". We were also required to clean and maintain all exhaust tubes and the bag house which wad essential for compliance with strict EPA regulations, all while following every OSHA safety standards and our own companies "lock out" procedures to assure a safe working environment for all employees. I also worked on the sewer mainline crew operating loader performing a multitude of duties such as loading trucks with over burden materials that the mainline digger excavated and placed into a live screen, and keeping those materials seperated such as screened bedding material for the mainline pipe layers. i also was responsible for moving the live screen when needed to keep up with the mainline digger, as well as keeping all of the shoring boxes readily available for placement as the project moved forward. other duties included stocking the job site every morning with enough pipe to last throughout the day and moving those materials forward as we progressed. These duties of my job was very fast paced and had to be well thought out way ahead of time as any time someone had to wait on me for any of these things it would slow the project down severly. I performed my duties with a safety-first attitude and all while maintaining production for the companies bottom line.
