Fundamentally a biochemical scientist from the Netherlands, now located in southern Finland with an extensive background in protein engineering and molecular biology, (bio)materials development and testing, LC-MS/MS method development. In recent years my skillset has expanded in industry R&D, developing clinical IVD LC-MS/MS assays, also taking on small project management responsibilities in a collaboration project with Mayo Clinic.With a solid science background, and always open to learn more, I'm excited to work together with people and take the initiative to get further with science and technology, whether that is in a purely R&D, project management, or innovation management role.

Jan C.M. van Hest I've worked on a project entitled "Production of a synthetic multi-enzyme complex". The goal of the project was to link the enzymes 4-coumarate:CoA ligase, stilbene synthase and glycosyltransferase using bio-conjugational methods, and test if the protein complex could efficiently create resveratrol from Coumaric acid and CoA in vitro. During my time here, a method to convert amines into azides in proteins was also investigated and improved to be metal-free and pH-controlled, resulting in a publication. -
