Driving standardization efforts, and ensured that decisions made by the NESST were thoroughly understood, and communicated to both our internal customers, and all applicable participants of our vendor community.

Tesinc Communication Consultants were contracted to serve as the "Watch Dog" of the build, with Lucent Technologies performing all of the physical construction.I was originally brought in as a "Tester" as well as the Tesinc Project Manager. My role with GTE was quickly upgraded to a consultant capacity, and I later took on an internal GTE management role. I performed product feasibility studies for all inside and outside plant, which drove the decisions for all technical platforms relating to the performance and reliability of GTE's first Cable TV system, the "Americast" build. Responsibilities included:* Digital encoding, and compression format. (Optimum compression ratio evaluation, and analysis)* Upstream signal distribution analysis. (Optical setup restrictions, and failure thresholds/RF setup and return lash-up analysis, with additional considerations for maintenance modes) * Downstream signal distribution analysis. (Noise and Distortion catalog analysis/Optical splitter and node grouping configurations/ Forward lash-up evaluation with additional considerations for PEG distribution in multiple Hub environments)* Optical "Super Trunk" configurations. (Evaluations to optimize long haul optical signal processing equipment, and Hub Site interconnects)* Cable Modem/Router Configurations.
