I used to be a rocket scientist, and now I'm a patent lawyer. I help big and small companies protect their technology. I'm also the firm-wide chair of the Intellectual Property Department of Baker Botts. Whether speaking to a 2nd grader about being an "inventor" or teaching law students about licensing IP, I'm most comfortable as a bridge between law and technology, between the business of technology companies and the legal tools to protect their innovations.In my spare time, I enjoy cooking Italian food including epic pizzas from my wood burning pizza oven, fly fishing on bass lakes in East Texas and trout streams in the Rockies, immersing myself in live theater and great movies, watching Rangers baseball and hopefully Little League baseball once grandkids arrive, working projects on my tractor, and traveling with the family.
