March 21st 2020 an extraordinary team of specialists from industry, the Dutch Military and healthcare , including IG&H and myself, was assembled in the Erasmus Medical Center to immediately set-up an organization to spread workload due to Covid across the Netherlands. It was during the very first months of the pandemic and healthcare systems in the south were absolutely flooded with wave after wave of extremely ill patients. Efforts to spread the workload in the south were already underway, but proved massively insufficient. There was no central system and no infrastructure in place to transfer these patients to other regions with available capacity. Together with the Dutch military we designed and implemented an organisation, the processes and the systems to effectively monitor and distribute patients through national and regional networks and individual hospitals. We went from scratch to 'full operational capability' in less than a week. I was responsible for design, set-up and overall management of the 5 cells of the Center consisting of over 120 people from various medical professions, medical students, industry experts, consulting, government, including the military. Close to 2000 patients were moved in the initial LCPS, as the center was called. In October we transferred the organization and it's operations to the principal: the Dutch National Acute Care Network (LNAZ) at a secure location. Thanks to the center much needed critical care was provided to transferred patients which had become unavailable close at home. We also contributed to alleviating the strain on already stretched healthcare professionals. Proud to have been part of that team and our joint efforts to get something extraordinary done, together.

In this function I coordinated strategy development and implementation and headed a team of 13 consultants. As a team we provided policy support for the executive board of one of the largest medical systems in the Netherlands. We ran the strategic programmes including the strategy itself and supported the many divisions, councils and boards of the organization and its many partners and stakholders.

I was in charge of a team of 10 organisation consultants supporting organisational an operational change in the UMC Utrecht, also offering professional consulting on the open market.

I headed a programme of 7 innovative projects concerning outpatient care. The results of these projects were moulded into standardized modules for other divisions and departments to use.
