Bringing science and Education for the Advanced Pain Practitioner

In de afstudeerfase wordt de minor Stress en pijn aangeboden. Het onderwerp pijn en de behandelmogelijkheden zijn hier een onderdeel van. De presentatie heeft als doel de studenten te informeren over pijn en te inspireren voor verdere ontwikkeling en verdieping in het onderwerp.

Vanaf mei 2015 zijn wij ook gevestigd in de Waarderpolder in Haarlem. Explain Pain blended education in a research program. Over the last 15 years an educational intervention targeting pain and based on neuroscience and known bioplastic changes in the nervous system has emerged with promising and growing research support. The clinical uptake in some parts of the world has been rapid. This educational intervention is somewhat novel as it is based on numerous and changing frameworks. These include a rapidly growing neuroscience understanding of how and why pain emerges, conceptual change science to deal with the fact that learners come with existing knowledge requiring refuting or reframing as well as needing new knowledge, a biopsychosocial paradigm, new and improving multimedia educational opportunities and continually adjusting clinical reasoning processes to deal with the individual nature of pain experiences. This intervention module is designed for a “short” intervention (eg. 2x60 minutes or 3x45 mins spread over 1-x weeks) with participant access to a variety of support multimedia. The target audience is people with ongoing pain states.
