Manage the EMEA presales teams for the Centera business unit (2006 – 2007), the BURA practice (2008 – 2009) and the BRS business unit (2010 – now), covering the full breadth of archiving and backup/recovery solutions over the years.Integrated the presales and delivery teams of a number of acquisitions and managed the introduction of related new product and solution offerings into the presales organization (Legato, Avamar, DataDomain, SourceOne, DPA, Atmos) driving accelerated growth out of each (CAGR > 20% over 5 years).In 2009, in addition to running the BURA practice, I was responsible for all the Specialist SE in EMEA. I assisted the EMEA and Global Presales Leadership to develop the presales 3-layer model in order to formalize the way account and specialist presales work together. I also helped them in developing a planning tool to better map presales resource planning with segmentation and business unit planning. In this capacity, I also was the EMEA liaison for the field readiness teams in Hopkinton for all specialist BU. This was the predecessor to todays SPL organization.During the last 9 years, I also managed the specialist delivery organization, either directly with P&L responsibility or more in a matrix setup, and was the key liaison between the BY and the with the specialist Support organization in EMEA to ensure end-to-end support for the solutions we sold. In the BURA and BRS years, I have almost doubled the services business every other year and made the delivery organization profitable. With the support organization, I drove a number of get-well programs for Centera, Networker, Avamar, DL3D, EX/SourceOne and assisted in bringing customer satisfaction levels back to normal which allowed us to rejuvenate the business.

Responsible for the development of the core Centera operating software, working with the engineering teams in Belgium, Russia and India. Centera grabbed almost 80% of the content addressed storage market and became one of the fastest growing businesses in EMC history.Worked intensively with the field sales organization to gather requirements, adjust the strategy based on key customer feedback and enable the sales teams to sell and compete more effectively. I also served on the field readiness team with the delivery and support representatives to ensure serviceability was based into the roadmap.

Founded the company to build and market media asset management and multi-channel publishing software. Developed the business plan, designed the software platform and acquired VC funding to grow the company internationally.Sold and project managed three 500K+ Euro deals into accounts in Belgium, Germany and the UK and grew the revenue to 2M Euro with 75 employees.

Created a strategy report on the impact of emerging technologies on the go-to-market and business models of banking, working on a team of internal staff and a Bain & Company team of external consultants. After presenting the findings and recommendations to the Board, a group was assembled to further investigate and pilot internet, data mining and data visualization technology in the bank.Designed and built a knowledge base for the top 100 customers supporting the investment banking business. Bringing together external and internal, structured and unstructured data sources and making connections visible to the investment bankers covering these accounts, we were able to drive above average growth in cross-business unit revenue for these accounts.

Design and implementation in Cobol of the overnight batch processing handling all international equity transactions for the bank.Managed the transition of the data center from Brussels to London and re-designed the entire process from 14 hours down to 3, allowing the expansion of the business into Asian time zones and markets.
