My job is to create a digital destination that enhances Nasdaq's web presence, increase lead gen, provide opportunities for our marketing and communications team, and display our world-class market data.Previously, I was the web producer for Nasdaq.com, where I grew our audience for business news content on our site. We have since pivoted away from a business news, retail investor-oriented approach towards a more B2B-focused approached, and my new responsibilities include helping manage that transition.As web producer, I helped grow the News section of Nasdaq.com from the ground up to supplement our Market Activity section. The News section ultimately comprised of 22-25% of website traffic (compared to 60% for Market Activity), bringing in millions of dollars in annual ad revenue, with millions of monthly visitors.At NJ.com/SILive.com, my job entailed several responsibilities, including maintaining both homepages by curating the best content available with enticing art and language designed to drive page views.In addition to managing the homepage, I was involved with a number of projects at any given time, depending on priority. This could entail anything from creating pages (such as nj.com/chris-christie) to overseeing and coordinating prom coverage (a huge traffic driver). I was also the point person for our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts and worked with reporters to monitor trends and optimize our content. I also worked with several bloggers and trained them in the use of our content management system, SEO and social media outreach.At BostonNOW, I maintained our website and posted all of our stories and managed the home page. For most of my career, Nasdaq.com's business news section was B2C oriented, and the vast majority of our site visitors are retail investors looking to make smart investing decisions for their portfolios, and it had been my job to cater to that audience.In early 2024, Nasdaq's leadership has pivoted to making the website almost entirely aimed at a B2B audience, and my part is to help facilitate that transition, with a focus on audience intelligence, lead gen, gathering first party data, telling the Nasdaq story, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI to better understand our users and to create a premier user experience for potential customers and clients.

The main focus of my job was publishing print articles on BostonNOW.com and collaborating with our bloggers. BostonNOW shut down in April 2008, because of Iceland's economy (no, really -- feel free to ask me about it).
