Head Lab Operations
Current
Global Capability And Lab Team Manager
Global Capability Manager
As Global Capability manager in the Learning Solutions Delivery team of the Alcatel-Lucent University I identified and planned workforce needs across the University’s delivery team. This included monitoring all aspects of instructor capability, as well as delivery capacity and comparing those with demand forecasts. I helped identify gaps or other actions needed to shape the delivery team correctly to meet expected demand, and worked with delivery team management to implement any changes that were required. As of January 2014 I was responsible for the on-boarding of the flexible workforce instructors from our training suppliers NIIT and Upknowledge including the project management of the Third Party Connection (TPC) implementation. Within a short amount of time I became the go to reference not only for TPC-related issues but also for Visual Planning, one of the key tools used within the University for resource planning.
Bell Labs Global Operations
As a member of the Bell Labs Global Operations team in Antwerp, Belgium, I focussed on the internal and external valorization of assets created by Bell Labs Research. This included creating and maintaining an asset list, establishing liaisons with internal and external parties, identifying technology licensing opportunities, etc.
Architect Bell Labs On-Line Presence
As Architect Bell Labs Online Presence I was in charge of defining and implementing the strategy to optimize Bell Labs' online presence via the external Bell Labs website and social media networks like Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, etc., aiming to strengthen the image of Bell Labs as the worldleading telecommunications research institute, to facilitate the interaction between the Bell Labs community and the outside world and to illustrate Bell Labs' long track record of transformational discoveries and innovations and their impact on society.
Assistant Director Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy
As assistant Director of the AlcatelLucent Technical Academy — an organization in Alcatel-Lucent that recognizes individuals who have made exceptional technical contributions to the company — I was responsible for the Academy's day-to-day operations, including the implementation, improvement and maintenance of the tools, communication (newsletter, yearbook, intranet site) and processes.I transformed and modernized the Academy’s operations, moving away from paperbased processes in favor of a combination of (customized) off-the-shelf and custom-developed IT tools and automating the workflow where possible. One of my key responsibilities was the governance of the Academy's yearly application/ nomination round which I fully automated, thereby significantly reducing the administrative overhead and cost that was associated with it in the past.During an 8-month semi-rotational in the period 2009–2012 in Murray Hill (NJ) I was responsible for establishing and kick-starting US chapters of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy (good for almost half of the members of the global Academy): one in Murray Hill (NJ), one in Naperville (IL) and one in Daly City (CA). This included taking initiatives such as the organization of local knowledge sharing/learning events with internal/external guest speakers, workshops on topics of interest to Alcatel-Lucent's technical community, innovation days, a networking and career day, etc.
Research Engineer
I worked as a Network Analyst in the Network Technology and Analysis team of the Network Strategy Group (NSG). Until the end of 2003, I focused on optical networks in general and network survivability and data/transport integration in particular. In 2004 I joined the Customer Network Evolution team within NSG where I focused on data, metro and core networks. In addition, as editor, I was responsible for the NSG Strategy Note program.
