* Security *My responsibilities as Security Officer include the organization and management of Security as a whole and advising en informing our board, employees, partners and customers. I monitor upcoming legal and regulatory demands regarding Security and see to it that the organization complies with these when this is required. This entails alignment with specialists at Global HQ and regular meetings with the local board. I am also regularly in contact with Product Owners and Security Engineers to ensure all product lines meet our requirements. On a practical level, I perform monitoring and reporting duties, manage Security incidents and execute our awareness programme. And on a daily basis I check that each development team performs recurring actions for 'their product' before the stated deadline. Our ISO27001 certification and the underlying ISMS are the foundation for our wider and professional approach of Security.* Compliance *As Compliance Officer I make sure that our organization complies with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.To achieve this, our team maintains extensive Compliance Frameworks for which we issue ISAE3000 and ISAE3402 assurance reports to our customers each year.Much of my time is spent assessing the impact of changes in existing laws and regulations as well as new laws and regulations. Lately, that meant assessing NIS2, DORA, the new DNB Good Practice, DNB Security Self Assessment, the new Assessment framework for DigiD en ISO27001:2022, amongst others.Another important part of my work is regularly monitoring performance of operational units and their adherence to policies and processes, reporting performance, findings and non-conformities to the managing board. I take up any anomalies with the relevant manager or team to help them align and be 'Compliance-proof'.

I was responsible for Security as well as Compliance...* Security * I was responsible for all Security related matters, ranging from policies to operations. It involded drafting and updating policies to performance monitoring, incident management and reporting to the board. I shaped a professional Security culture; instead of the approach 'What do we have to do?' we chose 'What do we want ourselves and how do we organize this efficiently?'. The result was a proactive and pragmatic way of working, securing commitment of all employees. Security Officers of our customers were very appreciative of this way of working. I maintained the ISMS and ensured continuous certification from the first ISO27001 audit in 2016 until the takeover of the company in 2023.* Compliance *Being on top of the continuous legal and regulatory changes and demonstrating to stakeholders that we are in control; that was the challenge as Compliance Officer. Together with the board I chose to adopt the COSO-model and to demonstrate our accountability in an ISAE assurance statement. I drafted the roadmap by which eBenefits achieved this goal in the shortest time possible. Getting all parts of the organisation on board was integral to the success of our plan. It allowed us to assign responsiblities and assured us these would be taken serious.In day tot day operations I was responsible for the monitoring and management of the execution of the processes for the Assurance controls. I reported findings to the board on a monthly basis. Also, I checked for upcoming changes in laws and regulations and advised on the impact these would have on our Compliance framework. Finally, I was the Compliance point of contact for all stakeholders and had regular meetings with clients and business partners to discuss developments regarding Compliance.
