Retired, (AV peer rated); Pursued "Litigation, Mediation, Appeals & Deals" (sm) since 1973; see www.bartlee.com (presently State Bar "inactive" status).Before 2018, I acted as counsel to, and mediator for, individuals, small business, physicians, non-profit corporations, and museums. I provided counsel and mediation re general civil litigation (federal and state -- multiple reported appellate and trial cases in complex litigation; multiple trials and hearings and settlements) and counsel re physician and hospital relations; I also enjoyed an Antitrust practice over many years. I have published two law review articles; also two historical articles on the California Civil Code; and articles on physician and hospital relations. In 1979 through 1981 I served as the General Counsel (then President) of the Greenpeace Foundation of America in San Francisco. Thereafter I counseled many non-profit organizations most recently the California Historical Radio Society, while in active practice focusing on federal and later state litigation for businesses and individuals, My current enthusiasms are public policy from a legal perspective and the history of technology.
