About Bart Lewis
I am a web developer. I enjoy Front End development (JavaScript, CSS, HTML) more than anything, but have also spent time working on Back End. Lately, I am spending most of my time working in React. For over 10 years, I have been developing Web sites and Web applications of all shapes and sizes. During this time I have worked both independently and on small teams of developers. In addition to my technical experience and knowledge, I pride myself on being an excellent communicator in both written and verbal formats. I believe this ability to work well with others, and to convey my ideas and concerns in a clear way, combined with my technical knowledge, makes me an excellent developer.I am eternally interested in learning new techniques and technologies, and staying on top of the ever-changing technologies I already know. Creating compelling, useful software that gets people excited is what drives me.

Senior Software Engineer
At Disney, I work on the team that builds client apps for several different Smart TV manufacturers (LG, Vizio, and Samsung). These apps are all built using front end technologies: HTML5; CSS3/SASS; JavaScript/React.I have also spent time working closely with product and design on rapid prototyping efforts. Iterating their designs and ideas, to ultimately drive the application UX/UI.
Web/Mobile Applications Developer
CurrentI've been enhancing existing Web sites and building them from scratch for several years. I am very experienced in all aspects of Web development.
Staff Engineer
I started working at Fandango in February of 2016, when they acquired M-GO.My day to day duties at Fandango are largely the same as they were at M-GO. I work closely with a small team building web based applications for Smart TVs. We maintain legacy applications (based on Backbone.js) on several different TVs, and have been developing a brand new application from scratch (based on React/Redux). The later will eventually replace the former on all of the devices we support: Xbox One; Samsung TVs; LG TVs; etc.The bulk of my time of late is spent in React, were I have taken a lead/architect role on our team. This includes regular code reviews, squeezing out every bit of extra performance [for lower end TV devices], writing wiki documentation for future developers, unit testing (Jest), and etc.
Senior Software Engineer
At M-GO, I work on the team that builds apps for several different Smart TV manufacturers (LG, Vizio, Samsung, and Hisense). These apps were all built using front end technologies: HTML5; CSS3; JavaScript. Aside from development and debugging of these applications, I also spend time mentoring other developers, mostly with JavaScript.M-GO was acquired by Fandango in February of 2016.
Co-Founder / Developer
For version 1 of Peggsite, I was the primary developer for both Front End and Back End code. On the Back End, we used MySQL and PHP. On the Front End, we used Backbone.js and Require.js. The idea, and all of the design, was done by my co-founder, Kirk Love. The code was pretty much all mine. I designed the database, the API, the entire Front End, and set up and managed all of the Back End AWS infrastructure. This was a very Front End heavy application. For version 2, we decided to concentrate all of our efforts on the iPhone app. We scaled the presence of the Web site back significantly, and doubled down on mobile. This entailed me quickly getting up to speed with Objective-C, and then spending the bulk of my days in XCode. During this process I learned a ton about all aspects of native iPhone development.
Full Stack Web Developer
DRC provides a range of technical services to the Department of Defense and several other Government branches. My role with DRC entailed being a lead software architect for several different Web based applications. Most of these applications revolve around training and E-Learning. I built several Web application tools and products while working at DRC. Many of these Web applications were internal tools to improve efficiencies in our team. Other examples of things I helped build are: several Web based training (WBT) for State Government; a Leaning Management System (LMS) for California Department of Corrections.
Senior Software Developer
Designed, deployed, and maintained an in depth Web application tool that allows our company with only two programmers to produce dozens of online interactive courses per year. We used native DHTML/ASP technologies to create a client review system that allows us to streamline the client/developer interactions during courseware development. In 2001 we produced 120 WBTs for clients such as Adobe, CNA Insurance, American Express, Chevron, and Anheuser-Busch.
Programmer
See description of position at "Little Planet Learning". The Frontline Group sold my division to Little Planet Learning. Job functions were identical.
Software Developer
