In my role as a foreign rights manager, I oversee all aspects of the sales of rights abroad, from crafting pitches for new titles, to attending book fairs, to growing the agency’s lists of contacts, to conducting negotiations and drafting contracts.

Founded in 2019, Fox Literary is a London-based book-to-film scout sourcing material for film/TV adaptation for a number of award-winning production companies. As a scout, my focus is primarily on literary fiction and translation, although I read and report weekly on fiction and non-fiction with adaptation potential in other formats, too. Other aspects of my job include maintaining a growing network of publishing contacts in order to source new material and track significant authors’ deliveries and liaise directly with clients, whether by pitching and sometimes leading on clients’ calls or by investigating rights queries and brainstorming IP ideas for specific briefs. As an assistant in the past, I dealt extensively with different kinds of scheduling and admins, while in my present role, I continue to represent the company at book fairs, parties, launches, and events.

Eccles Fisher is one of the longest-standing literary scouts in the UK serving a host of international clients worldwide. Reporting on new books weekly, I mainly focused on literary fiction from Latin America, although from time to time I was asked to report on Scandinavian thrillers, too.

The Brooklyn Rail is one of New York's most beloved monthly art publications, distributed free of charge in the city's museums, art venues, and bookshops. As a contributor, I had the opportunity to cover everything, from a show on socialist architecture in Yugoslavia at MOMA, to retrospectives on William Blake and Don McCullin at Tate Britain, to baroque painter Georges de La Tour. As a production assistant, I contributed to the smooth running of the magazine's workflow by copyediting articles and the journal's galley proofs, transcribing interviews, and maintaining systems, including the website and metadata.

Cultured is a Miami-based magazine reporting on the best from the worlds of contemporary art, design, architecture, and fashion. During my time there reporting to the executive editor, I copyedited, proofread, and fact- checked dozens of articles, directly liaising with authors and sources to make sure that everything was factually correct as well as polished, often working under the pressure of same-day deadlines.

Am-Book is a New York-based literary agency specialising in representing comics publishers and cartoonists. In this role, I was responsible for copy and design. I devised, wrote, and produced most of the agency's promotional material, including sales pitches and newsletters, and came up with the layout of the rights catalogue for major fairs which the agency uses to this day. What I particularly enjoyed about this role, in addition to the considerable responsibility and creative freedom, was the feeling that my work contributed to making overlooked geniuses such as Liv Strömquist, Andrea Pazienza, and Alberto Breccia available to a worldwide readership for the first time.

I began as an intern supporting the team with administrative tasks including digital archiving but was quickly given additional responsibilities and became a copyeditor and proofreader for the web, as well as serving as a judge on submissions for the magazine's annual fiction contest.

Seven Stories Press is a progressive, independent publishing house based in Tribeca. During my time there, I assisted the Art Director on the layouts, typesetting, and jackets of several books and supported all departments in their day-to-day functioning, thus acquiring a thorough understanding of the publishing process. My proudest achievements in this role include designing bookmarks for the promotion of two Octavia Butler's titles, laying out the illustrated booklet accompanying Quincy Troupe's memoir Miles & Me, and scouting the SSP titles Destination Paradise by Francesca Borri and Spit Three Times by Davide Reviati.
