Our association began during his employment at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We were part of the great team that helped bring travel inhouse at the Church. Together, we were able to complete several significant projects which would not have succeeded without Bart's brilliance and hard work. These are five of the projects Bart led or significantly contributed to: 1. GDS platform migration - We moved the Apollo GDS to all communication through the internet and swapped out leased workstations for owned workstations with desktop applications. 2. Auto Ops QC System Cornerstone Expert Workstation - Sourced options, procured the server and implemented the system. 3. Electronic Ticket Reconciliation and Tracking - Reconciled ticket log, ticket image, and accounting data to decrease duplicates and unreported sales. It also tracked ticket usage to apply unused ticket value. 4. Contracted Fares - Reviewed contracted fares and loaded them into the Apollo GDS for quicker and more accurate pricing and ticketing. 5. Reporting - Develop and implemented reporting to track effectiveness and savings. In time, we were able to track the savings and productivity of these projects which results in many thousands of dollars in savings. Without Bart, these and other successful initiatives would not have succeeded. Unfortunately for the Church, our travel agency partner recognized Bart's talents and he was recruited away from the Church to help with their international efforts and growth. Losing Bart created a large deficit on the Church's technical team. He has gone on to assist many other groups be successful in the travel operations.
