👋 Hey there, I'm Vojtacartographer at Lonely Planet. GIS & Cartography professional.🎓 EducationI have earned my Master's degree in Geoinformatics and Cartography at Palacky University in Olomouc. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Applied Geography from the Technical University of Liberec. During my studies, I had the opportunity to spend a year in Sweden, which really broadened my horizons and I learned how to "fika" properly. I believe in keeping my knowledge and skills up-to-date, exploring the intersection of technology and geography.💻🌍 Skills and ExpertiseI'm skilled in ArcGIS products, Adobe Creative Suite, orienteering softwares like OCAD and OOMapper, Office 365, among others. I'm also enjoying creating social media content for our national SKI-O team. I'm always exploring new and exciting developments, currently delving into the world of AI and prompt engineering. I speak fluentely English (and Czech, of course) and have basic understanding of Swedish (just enough to order meatballs at IKEA).👨‍💼 Work ExperienceMy diverse work experiences range from being a beach attendant in Greece to a GIS intern at EDIP s.r.o. As a freelance cartographer at Lonely Planet I can combine my love for travel and maps. My passion for maps and sports led me to work on orienteering mapping projects, course setting, and event organizing. I've learned that every project is an opportunity to learn and grow.⚽️ HobbiesOutside of work, I love being out training and doing all kinds of sports. I'm national ski-orienteering athlete for Czech SKI-O Team. I also love to travel and exploring new places, mostly looking for new spots where to have a cup of great coffee.
