I am a person who likes to create and realise new things. Against the current trend, the end goal of a design for me is a physical product, not just a virtual one. For me digital methods and virtual concepts are a means to achieve real and tangible objects.I am good at looking, observing and adjusting objects and looking for perfection of these. I am quickly to grasp new principles and concepts and I’m eager to apply these in my work. I am both a close follower of the latest high-tech trends and developments as well as an admirer of traditional craftsmanship. In my work I aspire to merge and blend both. My design background has taught me to take in mind both the user and the use of a product and that enabled me to find and tackle the root problems. I have learned how to incorporate sustainability in the development of products, to create interactive products (sensing, actuating and connectivity) with microcontrollers and to design with new materials and technologies. I have specialised myself in 3D printing which was at the heart of my Bachelor’s thesis and several more courses. I built my own printer, wrote custom firmware and created software to make custom production files for both Material Jetting and Fused Filament Fabrication printers. On the less experimental side, I used multiple 3D CAD modelling packages, combined with 3D printing and more traditional manufacturing methods such as metal machining and woodworking to create all sorts of objects.So far most of my work has been in the area of prototyping but I have the ambition to expand and develop this in the direction of real products.
