Project supervisor for the "SPATIAL (H2020)" project, which seeks to address these challenges through a thorough investigation into accountability and privacy in AI powered security solutions. The project focuses on three specific technical contexts in which AI security solutions are being deployed: mobile systems, 5G and IoT. Besides technical measures to increase algorithmic accountability, the project will tackle the social, legal and ethical aspects given that such accountability allows for and can enforce legal and ethical obligations at an individual or organizational level. This will require an accounting of activities and choices for AI empowered security solutions, an acceptance of responsibility, and disclosure of the results in a transparent manner.
