In this role I joined the newly founded Data & Systems department where I focussed on the Business Intelligence applications and the introduction of our data warehouse.Two overall goals: first to get to a 'centralized single version of truth', meaning one place for all company data and logics, one 'true' version. Second to embed data with dashboards+analytics+reports in the companies decision making processes, to grow to substantiated use of KPI's and ultimately become data informed with predictive modelling.My first goal was to bring up a team of both internal and external specialists to define and execute the Data Platform project. As data was previously stored in silos like local Excel files, closed systems like Qlik and our legacy ERP, I sourced and enrolled external partner @Ilionx to setup SQL Server in Azure cloud, combined with Data Factory and DevOps.In this project the initial increment was to develop connections with our main platforms and secure data ETL and archiving. Followed by making that data warehouse the primary source for all companies business intelligence solutions (PowerBI, QlikSense, NPrinting, Sharepoint) and make sure that other tooling like Excel could also link up. Most time consuming phase took off by re-defining, auditing and building all business logics into our SQL Server.Alongside creating a showcase of my skills with- and possibilities for our company by using Microsoft business apps like PowerApps, Sharepoint, PowerAutomate, Planner, Teams and more.A secundary task allocated to me related to budget calculations and -monitoring of all projects touched by our department. Also used that momentum to add numerous data points in the system, for future use in BI-solutions.Working directly with our CFO, I also completed lots of tasks related to Financial Controlling: assisting accountants with the fiscal year statements, internal audits, automated asset management, implemented fiscal reporting software, met local legislation (transferpricing, taxes, waste act, surcharges) of our Dutch, German, Polish and Belgium companies, both process- as system wise incl. control cycle.Followed I created advanced data & reporting models for their yearly budgeting cycle and monthly financial reporting, which shortened its leadtime by +70% and minimized errors of those processes. The output shown led me to numerous other data-, information and analysis requests from throughout the company, further developing my skills on Data & Analytics.Due to GDPR-legislation and my knowledge of our full scope of business processes and its related system- and data flows, I became a registered Data Protection Officer as my secundary job task. In my role as a DPO I got trained by a legal privacy expert to better align our information flows and data procedures according to the GDPR.In the last period of my role I focused even more on the companies information management: migrating our old QlikView (BI) environment to the more agile QlikSense solution and becoming the promotor of a company wide culture change to a more 'data driven decision making' company. My main project was automation of vendor sell-in/sell-out rebates, to make sure that we'd maximize the bonus revenue from our vendor agreements. This meant proper registration, adding to P&L in correct cost-centers, managing all agreements and making sure all revenue got claimed on time.During this job I started and completed a degree in Business Administration & Management.
