As president and founder of the Samuel Lawrence Foundation (SLF) since 2010, I serve as a proactive member of local and national communities. The mission of SLF is "connecting our communities in science, the arts, education, and beyond." SLF believes breakthrough happens by working at the intersection of science, education, and the arts. Standing alone, each area fulfills a vital function. Standing together, they provide for the well-being of the earth and its people. In 2019 SLF released an expert 'Economic Impact Report' by T. English, PhD, S. Chakraborty PhD, and Len Hering Sr. RADM USN on the technical problems of the San Onofre nuclear waste storage. A collaboration of physicists, former military personnel, and engineers with considerable nuclear experience issued the report. To see how these problems could lead to a nuclear waste accident at San Onofre exceeding $13.4 trillion. In 2021, SLF collaborated with the Coalition for Nuclear Safety (CNS) and released a summarized one-pager on the problems of the San Onofre nuclear waste site. I have a Ph.D. in community and environmental medicine from UC Irvine and spent 20 years building an investment company while working in the biotechnology sector as an expert toxicologist researching, advising, and investing in novel technologies. I served as a chemist developing analytical standards for the EPA and spent 5 years doing neuroscience research at UC San Diego. I serve as an advisory board member to Learning Equality, which uses technology to make education available to all.Learn More: https://linktr.ee/samuellawrencefoundation
