The Chancellor is the titular head of the University and in the name of Ibanda University confers degrees and awards diplomas, certificates and other awards. I was advise the University organs including the University Management, University Council and the Board of Directors on the affairs of the University.

The University Council is the supreme organ of the public University and directs the academic, administrative and financial affairs of the University. Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is a Public Tertiary Institution. It is affiliated to Makerere University for the award of degrees. MUBS runs academic programmes from certificate to PhD level. Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) aims at poverty reduction in the African region through human capacity development.

The Presidential Investors Round Table was a top-level Business Advisory Council, launched on 30th September 2004 by the President of the Republic of Uganda at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Uganda. This Council had various working groups. The mandate of the Council was to advise the Government on the steps that should be taken to improve the investment climate and increase Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows to Uganda. I was a member of various working groups including ICT.

Makerere University is the Premier Public University in Uganda and one of the oldest universities in Sub Saharan Africa.As Vice Chancellor, I was responsible for the academic, administrative and financial affairs in the University.
