Rotterdam

Being the supervisor of the VU statistics prep-campus, I organize a 2 week course for incoming master students at the VU, to prepare them for the statistical aspects of their upcoming master. I've done so for the summer of 2019, 2020 and 2021.

As a statistics lecturer, I am the teacher of tutorials for bachelor students. This includes lecturing groups of 250+ bachelor students on my own on how to use the SPSS software and how to apply the mathmatical rules of statistics. During the course evaluations, the students continuously rate me as a teacher with a high grade.

As a research assistent for the PThU, I analyzed the quantitative (spss) and qualitative data (coding interview answers) for a study about the view of young protestants upon being a misionary for their religion.

During 2018 I was an alliance intern at the newly merged academic hospital Amsterdam UMC, focusing on change management. In this way I contributed to the alliance of the two hospitals, and the women&child division in particular. I was focusing on the organizational identity of the newly merged division and on the communication throughout the whole process. I started the year with a research on the opinion of the employees on many different aspects of the merger. After analyzing the results, I helped planning and carrying out interventions to improve those aspects, in order to make the alliance more succesful.

Being a summerschool teacher, I contributed to the final chance for high school students to pass their year. They originally did not have sufficient grades to pass onto their next year, but they were given one final chance. In two weeks, they had to study for two tests on two of the courses they failed. If they passed both tests, they would be allowed to pass onto the next year. As a teacher, I would personnaly coach and teach groups varying from 6 to 12 students. I have done this for the past three summers and on average 83% of my pupils passed.
