This position focuses on working aseptically with exposed product in a cleanroom, greatly emphasising the importance of having a sterile work conduct in a laboratory environment and working under the GMP quality management system. In addition to working in the cleanroom. I am heavily involved in a production support role. Examples of activities in this role are: working on multiple projects for product pipeline innovation and improved efficiency, reviewing and improving batch documentation and logistical support (maintaining production inventory and overseeing transportation of components). During my time as a bio process operator at MSD I gained knowledge and experience in the following skills: working aseptically in a cleanroom, using GMP to ensure product quality and safety, using environmental monitoring to ensure a clean work ethic/environment and product, time-managing production and project responsibilities, logistical support and working as a team for a common goal.

My graduation internship focused on setting up a new longevity assay for a genetically modified C. elegans strain to measure the anti-ageing effects of biological compounds. During this project, I gained experience with the following subjects: experimental; planning of multiple long-running experiments, nematode culturing, aseptic laboratory techniques, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy and scientific writing.

This internship focused on expressing fungal secondary metabolites in yeast. During this internship, I gained experience in the following subjects: HPLC, analysing absorptian-spectra, PCR, gel-electrophoresis cloning, bacterial culture and transformation, DNA-extraction and purification and yeast transformation techniques.
