Implementing, sustaining and developing CI culture across multiple sites in the West and North parts of the Netherlands. Sites include a warehouse for technological products and multiple rental store return sites. The process capacity varies from 10 to 800 FTL (full truckloads) per day (on the inbound).

I enable co-operation of a growing multinational team of cross-functional Process Improvers from 12 different countries representing 20 sites. The world is such a large place, but this meeting makes it feel small. I believe the best time to make progress is while having fun.Currently I'm involved in a project increasing Lean knowledge among our Commercial force.

How I love SPC. With a bunch of books on the shelf and a vast collection of data I generated a system which not only allows SPC for local processes but can even predict the range in which the next batch will result.But SPC only is not enough, while it lets me control a process within its natural limits it does not tell the success story of a department or division. In this role I accomplished to teach over 75% of the employees the basics of Lean Process Improvement during cross-functional Kaizens in Naarden. In addition employees from other sites also have been taught the basics while actually improving a process.Multiple projects were executed with subjects ranging from lead-time reduction to area utilization. Currently I facilitate a project regarding how employees experience stress, on one of our sister sites. I find myself captivated by Lean and all associated with it, that is why I made my Green Belt certification possible solely from personal resources. And I don't regret it for one minute. I found it challenging to keep fresh eyes on the job that has become so familiar. Being aware of that helped me significantly. But not as much as the extensive Life Technologies and Thermo Fisher libraries which were now within my reach. Personal Effectiveness, Project Management and Lean Manufacturing found their way in my execution of "finding better ways".

It was around this time facilitating TWI (training Within Industry) became a more prominent part of my role. Coaching was surprisingly more interesting then I thought. If you ask me the importance of learning is often underestimated. I learned that learning is walking, but teaching others is leaping.

With demanding ML, GLP and ISO quality standards but operations ever changing I managed to broaden my knowledge in operating processes on different scales. But the real fun started when I could apply PDSA to improvement projects resulting in cleaner products which were easier to process.
