Linear & non-linear finite element modeling of machines, structures and products for static strength and/or fatigue life prediciton.Checking conformity of design to Eurocode or NEN-EN regulations

Internship, literature survey & graduation project.Finite element (FE) computational analysis of human atherosclerotic plaques for material failure prediction.Plaque rupture is the underlying cause of heart attack and stroke, the two leading causes of death worldwide. It is a mechanical event where stresses in the plaque exceed tissue strength, and is an active research topic in the biomechanical field. During my internship and thesis project I investigated the effect of a frequently encountered plaque constituent, calcification, on plaque stress computations. This required strong analytical thinking, advanced finite element modeling skills and profound knowledge of non-linear, anisotropic material behaviour.

3D & 2D design of client-specific steerable ship propulsion (bow thrusters & azimuth thrusters).- Translating client specifications into a suited thruster design, while taking classification society regulations and company procedures into account.- Preparing technical drawings & bills of materials for production.- Project guidance in close collaboration with Project Management, Planning & Purchasing Department.

Checking, revising & updating of technical drawings of waste pumps (in both 3D and 2D).
