My team is reponsible for ingesting, transforming and storing gridded datasets from various numerical weather prediction models and make them available for internal development teams. My role within the team is to ensure that the cloud production environment is efficient, fault tolerant and cost effective. In addition, I use my meteorological background to improve our data transformations and assist with developing new features.

From a technology perspective, identify and analyse existing products with a technology challenge. Define requirements and business case and build (cloud) transformation roadmap together with product team.

Build a team that executes complex recurring tasks based on requests from the business. Implement Agile (Kanban) methodology, enabling the team to cope with highly varying workloads. Work on standardising, documenting and optimising tasks and define SLA's where needed. Build a fun and challenging environment for all team members.

Work on various (consultancy based) meteorological research challenges. Implement new meteorological forecast models in an operational (HPCC) environment and manage process maintenance and support.
