Chief Innovation Officer

Loop.ing kickstarts new innovations and helps your business with the transition to a circular economy - while benefitting from new commercial opportunities. Focus theme's: • sustainable business development – how to create a new profitable circular business model?• new and biobased materials – generate measurable impact on your CO2 footprint • digital manufacturing – speed to market and on-demand will be future key driversLoop.ing provide fresh and bold idea’s. We understand the reality of your industrial environment and the challenge when moving from the lab to a factory. Starting often with a long term vision and clear strategy. Than moving quickly into actionable steps. We believe in tangible progress – deliver results in weeks, not years. We do that by offering management support, technology assessments (IP), market analysis, identification of new market opportunities and a solid plan how to get there. Execution is an important part: we take responsibility by working together with your team in ‘doing’ it. Measurable sustainability is a key part of that – and distinguish between the ‘need to have’ versus the ‘nice to haves’. There is already enough greenwashing in this world and we don’t want to waste our time on that. With experience from large corporate environment to small ‘cash-strapped’ start-ups, we know how to secure finance. With a number of successes in securing European and Dutch funding (a.o. Circulaire KetenProjecten, EFRO, Eurostars, H2020) for innovation projects related to manufacturing, we know pretty good the right approach for each business. Partners and clients, a.o.: NPSP, Lightwell, Lorenz Kunststoftechnik, Recell, UPPACT, Gemeente Haarlem, MAAK Haarlem, Sympact, 3DMakerszone, UPP! Circular Plastics. Co-Founder

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

The UNSEAM Project is an initiative founded by Bas Froon and Karin Vlug that develops new technologies enabling local, digital and on-demand manufacturing of textile products. The textile landscape is changing – the existing model of long lead times of mass produced products from Asia will not be sustainable in the near future. Most of what we wear is produced at the other side of the world with the sewing machine and is one of the most labour-intensive industries in the world. In 2018, UNSEAM developed a seamless, three-dimensional shaping textile technology for the textile industry, making labour-intensive operations unnecessary.By combining new and existing digital techniques, UNSEAM aims to enable designers and brands to produce their clothes, shoes and furniture made to measure and on-demand: closer to the end-user. Sustainable, ethical and profitable.Major projects:* 3D self shaping textiles: based on proprietary technology from UNSEAM (patented), we developed textiles that can shape itself directly into a programmed 3D shape. Together with TUDelft we developed algorithms that controls the physical shaping. Using a digital avatar, a tailor-made garment can be made with less manual assembly, thereby enabling on-demand production.* Development of new digital manufacturing techniques using biobased material directly into three-dimensional end-products (e.g. garments). For example: jellyfish leather, bio-composite fibres or fruit based leather. www.unseam.nl
