Acting Nursing Supervisor responsible to manage patient care and hospital manpower in an active and effective manner to provide high quality care.Charge nurse at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital, holding Master degree in Quality Management and (Bachelor of Science of nursing), with MOH license, responsible for delivering direct patient care and supporting nursing staff. Assessing the unit and patient care needs and available resources for current and out coming shifts. Communicate information for continuity of care. Coordinates admission/ transfers/ discharges and supports patients in access to follow up care or other healthcare services.*Responsibilities Handled:*•Provides direct patient care and promotes the highest standards of clinical nursing care established on evidence-based practice as an effective team member as well as a team leader.•Develops and adopts standards of care and assists in directing and guiding all staff in the continuing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and goals aimed at achieving optimal patient care.•Takes charge of the Unit in the absence of the Unit Manager.•Adapts to changing work situations by adjusting staff assignment and/or seeking assistance from the Unit Manager ensuring patient safety is maintained and scope of practice and policies are not violated.•Ensures nurse: patient ratios are maintained whilst on duty, highlighting significant problems to Nurse Manager or Supervisor•Provides mentorship to new staff throughout their orientation period.•Performs regular patient and unit rounds with Unit Manager or Supervisor to ensure quality patient care, reporting any deficiencies and taking appropriate actions.•Prepares and submits statistical data as requested by Unit Manager or Supervisor•Maintains relevant unit KPIs as requested by Unit Manager or Supervisors.•Assists in identifying and reporting incidents to the unit manager for further review and action by the quality department.

• Complies with the policies and procedure of Ministry of Health.• Acts as a team leader assigned• Demonstrate effective communication of assigned duties, reporting problems or concern to the Head Nurse and serving as a liaison with other departments.• Responsible for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care assigned shift.• Acts as a facilitator / preceptor to less experienced staff including pre and post registration nursing students.• Assesses unit needs and available resources for current and oncoming shifts.• Reviews patient's history and medication records exchanges information for continuity of care (shift to shift)• Coordinates admission /transfer/discharges for continuing outpatient services.• Make decisions and convey appropriately to the Head of the Department.• Preparing crush cart and checked daily.• Appling advanced cardiac life support and basic life support to patient in critical cardio pulmonary arrest. ACLS license last update January 2014• Monitor patient in intensive care unit and recording the vital signs. Inform physician for any abnormal findings. • Using ( Trakcare™ ) Electronic Patient Record System• Inserting intravenous cannula and administer medication as per hospital polices. • Change position of bed redden patient and prevent bed sore.• Assess physician while Endo tracheal intubation , Dealing with mechanical ventilation - Secretion suction ,inserting central line , inserting arterial line , oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal intubation . • Take venous blood test sample and blood culture - Dealing with chest drainage - Bed sitting - Dealing with auto diffusion devise• Drug administration by intra venous, intra dermal injection , intra muscular injection , sub cutaneous injection - Hygiene care : bathe of patient , mouth hygiene ….etc.• Wound suture - Remove wound suture - Educator in health education
