Medical Intensive Care Unit, ICU

• Acting Nursing Supervisor responsible to manage patient care and hospital manpower in an active and effective manner to provide high quality care.Charge nurse at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital, holding Master degree.
• Provides direct patient care and promotes the highest standards of clinical nursing care established on evidence-based practice as an effective team member as well as a team leader.
• Develops and adopts standards of care and assists in directing and guiding all staff in the continuing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and goals aimed at achieving optimal patient care.
• Takes charge of the Unit in the absence of the Unit Manager.
• Adapts to changing work situations by adjusting staff assignment and/or seeking assistance from the Unit Manager ensuring patient safety is maintained and scope of practice and policies are not violated.
• Ensures nurse: patient ratios are maintained whilst on duty, highlighting significant problems to Nurse Manager or Supervisor

• Complies with the policies and procedure of Ministry of Health.
• Acts as a team leader assigned
• Demonstrate effective communication of assigned duties, reporting problems or concern to the Head Nurse and serving as a liaison with other departments.
• Responsible for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care assigned shift.
• Acts as a facilitator / preceptor to less experienced staff including pre and post registration nursing students.
• Assesses unit needs and available resources for current and oncoming shifts.
