My journey started as an entrepreneur. I started a lifestyle brand called devoyge where my goal was to empower people to share their cultural heritage with the world. Through campaigns like “culture is everything,” the brand encouraged people from all walks of life to live authentically and unapologetically. Through my journey I’ve always tried to find the best and most clear ways to tell Devoyge’s story through capturing our merchandise with photography, but I was always so astounded by the lack of professionalism amongst photographers I worked with. As an entrepreneur who pours all my energy and creativity into my work, I needed to make sure that I was able to have the manifestation of my vision, my merchandise, captured in the best and most picturesque way. The professionalism issue was problematic for me so I decided to pick up a camera and capture my own story and merchandise journey. My fashion brought me to photography. Overtime it has transcended into my passion. As an entrepreneur I understand how personal one’s journey and business ventures are. It requires someone who cares to understand the job at hand, the vulnerabilities involved, and the stories to capture.
