I am Bashir, a dedicated, UK-trained Clinical Prescribing Pharmacist with a passion for patient centred care. Since completing my clinical pharmacist training in 2011,I have been treating a broad spectrum of medical conditions and managing specialist treatment referrals. My focus on the health of the whole person has been key to my success, combining physical, psychological and social aspects. Currently I’m the Lead Clinical Prescribing Pharmacist for North West London. Working within a busy National Health Service (NHS) clinic in the UK - one of five clinicians responsible for 14,000 patients. I am responsible for the Medicines safety domain across all our surgeries within North West London. In addition, I am managing, training, appraising and hiring all pharmacists across our several general practioner sites within North West London. Concurrently I am also driving digital innovation in medicine as one of the Clinical Leads - Digital at Operose/AT Medics Group, accountable for outcomes across the whole of North West London (56,000 patients). Between 2020 and 2021, I played a vital role in the NHS response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the Lead Pharmacist for the vaccination hub. Initial focus was on disease treatment, with my remit shifting towards vaccination as the NHS vaccination programme was rolled out to the UK population. My early career was spent in managing and treating both acute and chronic conditions, and I also spent a number of years within community pharmacy. Throughout my career, I’ve proven my ability to deliver results in fast-paced environments, whether in a team, leading or independent capacityI am bilingual (native English & Pashto) with genuine cultural awareness.
