Held full P&L responsibility for all manufacturing operations and directed 500+ employees through 5 direct reports. Reported to the President/CEO.- Executed a strategic manufacturing revitalization initiative contributing to enhancing the sales revenue to US$ 65.2 million in FY 2010 from US$ 40.7 million in FY 2009 an increase of 60%.- Formulated and aggressively pursued key cost reduction initiatives and increase in product ratings resulting in annualized gains of US$ 5.8 million.- Drove pursuit of product quality improvement measures resulting in 41% reduction in market complaints.- Reduced inventories over 60% to improve cash flow and sustain operations.- Developed and executed strategy to handle unstable situation in the aftermath of political unrest in Egypt followed by wide spread strike in manufacturing units. Due to deft handling of the circumstances, company returned back to normalcy quickly with minimum loss to productivity.

Alexandria, Egypt

As Head of Projects, I was responsible for relocating an Acrylic fiber manufacturing factory from Barcelona, Spain to Alexandria, Egypt. This was a complex and challenging project requiring co-ordination of four regions - Thailand, Spain, India and Egypt wherein the project teams were operating. The key accountability included establishing the transnational Project Team, negotiations and execution of contracts for Asset Purchase, Dismantling, Shipping & other Contracts, organizing safe dismantling and movement of over 5000 MT of Plant & Machinery from Barcelona, liaison with establishments in Barcelona and Egypt for statutory approvals, Project Finance and Cash Flow Management, HR Management, Construction and Commissioning of factory at Alexandria. In this role, I led a cross functional global team of various nationalities and reported to the President of the Company.

India

As Head of the Operations, I was accountable for developing and executing strategies for enhancing Operational efficiency, Productivity, Cost Leadership, Customer Value Creation, Development of value added Specialty Products, Market interface, Execution of expansion projects. I worked closely with the CEO on developing the strategy for Industrial Relations for smooth operation of the unit in a highly political and unionized region. Managed 5 direct and 403 indirect reports. Reported to the CEO. Successes include:- Achieved 215% enhancement in production from a single production line by means of ingenious process up-gradation and debottleneck exercise- Achieved best operational efficiency in the Acrylic Fiber Industry world over.- Practical IR approach resulting in running the operations with non-emergence of labor union in adverse political region- Successfully relocated Plant & Machinery from Italy and Greece
