With almost 25 years of experience gained from management and senior level advisory roles, Basia Urban has a rich history in shaping and overseeing development policies.She excels in planning, executing, evaluating and managing development programs across the sectors of youth development, education, labor market, economic development and gender, across the Middle East, Central Asia, Caucuses and Eastern Europe. Her assignments focused on partnership building, business development and resource mobilization to ensure portfolio growth and expansion. A holder of an MPA (Masters in Public Administration) from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, she frequently carried out highly technical tasks such as MERL, organizational development, knowledge management and fundraising. As a former recipient of various scholarships, Basia wholeheartedly supports equitable access to education and has made it her lifelong passion. During Jordan Education Initiative of the World Economic Forum, she championed integration of ICT and 21st century literacy skills into classroom instruction through teacher professional development. As an independent consultant, she demonstrated analytical thinking and synthesis skills while researching correlation between social-emotional learning (SEL) and universal design for learning (UDL) on non-formal education (NFE), especially among out-of-school-children (OOSC). Basia has led cross-national teams across many borders relying on values of empowerment, team-work, and life-long learning. Her multilingual proficiency in Polish, English, French, Russian and Arabic further complements her skills in communication and presentation skills.
