I've been using computers daily, since I was about 16. In that time I've used every version of Windows from Windows 3.1 to Windows 11, a whole boatload of Linux distros(Slackware, Debian, Red Hat, Mandrake, Slax, Gentoo, and too many more to list), FreeBSD, and DOS, to name a few. I've compiled my own Linux distro from the ground up(Compiling all of Gentoo from source on a 1 Ghz, single core Celeron is an exercise in patience, for sure). I've slipstreamed my own Windows installs from XP onward(I REALLY, REALLY hated Vista, so I built my own version of XP, Service Pack 3 to install on my Laptop that came with Vista).Hmm, I also collect Programming Languages like some people collect Beanie Babies. Let's see, I know C, C++, PHP, Perl, Bash script, Rust, Python, Javascript, and various Markup Languages(Look, I know they aren't really programming languages...). My first language was C(Back in the days of C99), and also the hardest language for me to learn. My latest is in the collection was been Python, which was an experiment for me to see if I could write a functional, useful program in a language I never officially learned, just by learning the syntax from code samples; it worked pretty well. It is easy to understand, but I can't stand languages that manage scope with indents(Curly brackets forever, thanks).Computers have always fascinated me and as such I'm always learning as much as I can, whenever I can. I often spend a lot of time experimenting with them, too. Sometimes just to see if I can do something that shouldn't be possible. Like getting 4 or 5 VMs to run on a virtual network at the same time, on a machine from 2005 with only 8 Gigs of RAM and a single core processor that lacks almost all modern instructions for virtualization, AND have it actually do useful work hosting for my internal network. That old Dell sure held up for a long time.Personally, I think that the best way forward in this technological world is to understand as much of it as is possible. Not simply one language and a software solution, but as much as you can, from the Silicon on up. Only then can we truly innovate and not just follow the latest trends. Sometimes those trends will lead you off a cliff.

  I am responsible for all of the server back end coding, as well as designing and implementing our virtualization system. I also manage troubleshooting various issues we have with hardware, software, and network. I am also 100% responsible for all professional paranoia within the company(Read: Security).
