Generous donors to the recent Above & Beyond Campaign supported the DGH's expansion by helping raise more than $13 million, leveraging $137 million provided by the provincial government.The Foundation was also instrumental in acquiring Canada's first state-of-the-art Mako SmartRobotics System for total hip replacement surgery at the Dartmouth General Hospital's Fred Smithers Centre for Orthopedic Care. Currently, we are focused on priority areas that will positively impact patient care at the Dartmouth General Hospital. They include purchasing Dartmouth General's first MRI unit, enhancing the emergency department, acquiring high-priority equipment, further developing the Fred Smithers Orthopedic Centre of Care, advancing health equity for our communities, and infrastructure changes that will improve the overall patient experience.MRI - $2M (completed funding) || Orthopedic Innovation - $3.1M || Innovation Fund - $1MEmergency Depart.
