My role as a 3rd line engineer is to provide: - Windows Server 2012 – 2022 administration, configuration, setup, and troubleshooting.- Datacentre decommissioning of legacy Kit / Re-patching / Re-Racking / tidy up.- Disaster recovery implementation and best practice.- Change approval and CAB presenting of required infrastructure changes.- Office 365 administration including SharePoint/Teams/AAD/OneDrive.- Intune administration including OS deployment via Windows Autopilot, application deployment, Desktop firewall configuration, and OS security updates via Microsoft Windows Autopatch.- Reporting and remediating threats to our identities with tools such as M365 Security and compliance centre/Defender for Endpoint.- MFA implementation and configuration for SSO.- Manage Azure AD connect to sync on-premises AD user data, groups and organisations to Azure AD and troubleshoot Azure services sync with on-premises AD and resync using the Azure tools.- Active Directory/Azure AD management- Group policy maintenance and setup- Troubleshoot Azure related issues escalated from 2nd line.- 24 Hour On-Call escalation for Infrastructure team.- PowerShell- Mobile Device Management and configuration.- Major Incident management and ownership of high priority incidents.- VM/Hyper-V/Azure Stack HCI.- Project work.- Provide training and technical guidance sessions and subsequent mentoring to 1st & 2nd engineers.- Scripting and automation of infrastructure services in a highly available environment.

The overall purpose of my job role at Shipley College was to provide: - A wide range of technical support, in a variety of different settings, to the College’s academic sectors and non-teaching services. - System administration and management of infrastructure is a major part of my role and this consists of management of email systems along with all aspects of IT security (i.e. Physical and Virtual Servers, Desktops and any other peripherals).- Monitor usage of storage space on Servers and individual user areas, deploying software across college and keeping the network running at an optimal speed.- Ensure the College’s IT equipment was adequately maintained.- A real-time helpdesk and telephone support service to staff, as required.- To assist students and staff with their software and hardware needs and problems- To complete the required administrative records to follow ILT Services procedures (e.g. helpdesk, IT security, inventory records).
