Basma is a Saudi curator and art advisor and has been carving her path in the contemporary art realm since 2015. Her journey began at Edge of Arabia in London, where she immersed herself in the intricacies of the art world. Transitioning to ATHR gallery in Jeddah, Basma took on diverse roles including curator, artist liaison, and sales representative.In 2020, Basma founded BHAC (Basma Harasani Art Consultancy), assuming the role of Founder and Creative Director. Her expertise now spans acquisitions, collection management, conceptual strategy development, and curation, with a keen focus on spotlighting Middle Eastern contemporary artists, particularly those from her homeland. She strives to bridge the gap between local talents and the international art scene, celebrating the rich heritage of the Middle Eastern contemporary landscape.With a background in Interior Architecture and a Master's Degree in Art Business, Basma brings a multidisciplinary approach to her consultancy work, drawing from her past experiences in galleries both in Saudi Arabia and the UK.Beyond consultancy, Basma has curated a series of exhibitions. These include "Pulse" in 2017, showcasing emerging Saudi artists, "Opening Remarks" in 2018, uniting regional talents, and "The Viewing Room" in 2020, an educational initiative shedding light on the art of collecting. Her latest endeavor, "What Lies Beneath Colour" in 2023, presented the first large-scale retrospective of Saudi Arabian artist Dr. Sami Al Marzoogi's work, showcasing over 150 pieces created between 1986 and 2002.
