Provides individual and group counseling on topics relative to personal, family and social issues.Consults and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, faculty, staff, administrators, and other educational/ community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needs.Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems. Counsels clients , individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.Counsels family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients.Acts as a client advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.Runs workshops and lectures about mental health issues.
