Providing our customers with ultra detailed underwater mapping capability at scale

The World's Smallest Lunar RoverMy contribution to this project is designing, modeling and building the SHRIMP cameras of the rover, together with students from Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering and Computer science. These are the 'eyes' of the rover which it uses to navigate over the lunar surface.Together with another mechanical engineering student I also designed the Antenna Deployment System (ADS) which is a four-bar linkage mechanism able to deploy the antenna after landing and able to keep the antenna pointing upward even though the solar panel rotates to face the sun.

From August 2017 up to and including August 2018 I worked with a group of other TU Delft students on Ecorunner 8: the latest generation of fuel-efficient hydrogen cars. The Eco-Runner is a Dream Team of the TU Delft which aims to create the most efficient hydrogen vehicle in the world. During the annual Shell Eco Marathon Europe the vehicle is put to the test, competing with over 100 teams from various universities all over Europe.We became third at the Shell Eco-Marathon 2018 in the prototype hydrogen class with an fuel efficiency of 684 kilometers per cubic meter of hydrogen (equivalent to about 2350 kilometers per liter of petrol). In addition, we have received the Vehicle Design Award for the best design of the competition!My main contribution has been is to test, design and build a new fuel cell. The new fuel cell system has an integrated cooling system, better airflow, more sensors and a more modular design. This has improved the robustness, stability and efficiency of the system, which let's it operate in a wide range of weather conditions and operating currents. I have learned a lot about the working of fuel cells, multidisciplinary teamwork and decision making. All in all I had a great year with the team!
