Dr Bassem Gerges (Bas) graduated in medicine with honours at The University of Sydney. His undergraduate training was undertaken at Westmead Public Hospital, before commencing specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. To complement his specialist training, Bas has also completed an additional fellowship in Gynaecological and Endometriosis Ultrasound and a two-year fellowship in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery, accredited with the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES).During his fellowship, Bas also obtained a Masters of Surgery in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery, with distinction. He holds the highest level of accreditation (RANZCOG/AGES Level 6) in Advanced Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery in Australia. Bas is currently serving as the Hon Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopic & Surgery Society (AGES) Board and is involved in educating junior doctors and medical students in his role as Honorary Associate Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University.
