Together with technical co-founder Rik Burger I've set-up a start up who aimed to improve the world of Physiotherapy. My role responsibilities included Service & UX design, market en user research and commercial partnerships (“Hipster & Hustler”).UNIPHY, Remote Exercise Therapy, offers facilitative tools to both therapists and patients to enable a faster, safer and delightful exercise therapy rehabilitation process. In the Netherlands, yearly 3 million patients are prescribed with an exercise regimen. However, these patients are 99% of the time without supervision of their therapist, resulting in 3 major problems. (1) Patients do not act as advised (50-70%), (2) patients exercise with a wrong posture and (3) the exercise program needs adjustment which cannot be provided as the parties only meet once every 1 or 2 weeks for check ups and adjustments. The UNIPHY app motivates the patient to act and provides personal posture feedback through the smartphone depth camera’s. The treatment status is also made insightful to the patient.As time progresses, the patient is asked to evaluate the treatment and while exercising measurements are conducted. This enables therapists to monitor their patient’s activities, experience and progress from afar via their own dashboard. A huge leap in efficiency is the result and patients only need to revisit the therapist for the prescription of new exercises.The project was discontinued since we ran out of our own money before funding was secured. Several partnership, funding and pilot attempts with insurance companies were conducted, however these moved slower than our burn rate could handle.

I conducted a usability test of the newly designed responsive website of 9292 (Dutch market leader in public transport planning). The test made it clear that the design has some serious flaws. As a result I redesigned the concept together with a creative front-end developer. The design is still in use today. As a result of the successful first assignment I was asked to help design persona’s for 9292. Our collaboration was finished due to my graduation project.

I was hired at Feedback Fruits to lead the redesign of their education platform (a combination of Blackboard, Google Drive and Facebook). Due to my experience at that moment, the complexity of the platform and launch expectations, the assignment was a little too challenging for me. I've learned a great lot about the start up culture, a redesign and prototyping & testing.

Working as an intern User Experience Designer I have had the chance to learn from very experienced Designers. They have taught me various techniques.In the period of my internship I have been working on various projects like setting up user tests and design principles that made it possible to improve the overall quality of the designs. I have also been working on customer journey's and wire-frames for future concepts.
