Internship at the European Patent Office in Berlin with emphasis on the reclassification of the H01L31 and H02S20 CPC classes.My tasks were:Reading of Patents in the fields of PV modules and semiconductors adapted for PV technology.Reading of technical documents to support the understanding of the patents.Filing the patents in the new classification system and put aside those whose topic was unclear.Check with my supervisor how to file the documents that were unclear.Provide Weekly reports on the Number of patents filed, test the new classification system by selecting random files and checking their content.

Design of 64 new chemicals for industrial applications. Work on Protic Ionic Liquids (PILs) as part of the Drummond Group. From making new series of PILs using high throughput robotic methods, to characterizing them using IR spectroscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, SAXS/WAXS at the Australian Synchrotron, I was investigating various aspects of these liquids such as CO2 absorption for industrial waste or testing the cyto-compatibility of these liquids for biomedical applications. The work presented as part of my master thesis was based on the study of the effect of the alkyl chain length on the characterisation of the protic salts as PILs and surfactants.
