A career that finds you, has to be meant to be. I never set out on an adventure to become an HR professional, but I gravitated to every aspect of the profession very quickly after college. It is a position that is truly unique each day. I constantly encounter new situations or tasks that are unfamiliar to me. During my time at the RSIC, I have handled various aspects of HR functions, in each of the different roles that I have held or currently hold. I oversee staffing and training, while being the EEO Officer and Benefits Administrator for the agency. My favorite aspect of HR is EEO and Affirmative Action. HR is a profession in which you are continuously learning. I love the challenges that the profession provides as well as the growth, both professionally and personally. 1. Lead and manage the HR function and its related process by overseeing and ensuring employee relations, succession planning, compensation and benefits, and governance/policy/EEO/other legal compliance.2. Manage all HRIS and employee data files to ensure their timely creation, system uploads, reporting, and/or communication to staff or other State entities. Manage Learning Management System data and reporting as well as Performance Management System. 4. Act as Commission EEO Officer in charge of data sourcing and reporting, interfacing with the State Human Affairs Commission office to ensure compliance with State requirements, and developing our Affirmative Action plan goals and related plan.5. Manage new employee orientation/onboarding process so to ensure that HR and Work orientation processes are properly planned and conducted thus enabling new employees to be effectively integrated into the organization. 6. Manage the performance management (EPMS) process to ensure effective setting and communication of performance expectations and the timely completion of process requirements.7. Manage all aspects of the staff training and development process, including training resource research and recommendations. Support individual development plans and succession plans training requirements so to enable the timely completion of needed training/development efforts as well as tracks/records training history information.
Human Resources Coordinator
1. Coordinate all aspects of the recruiting and staffing process and conduct/perform key related activities so to enable the timely filling of open positions with qualified candidates.2. Manage new employee orientation/onboarding process so to ensure that HR and Work orientation processes are properly planned and conducted so to enable new employees to be effectively integrated into the organization. 3. Plan, implement and/or conduct training as assigned to ensure all hiring process activities are known by all interview team members to enable their effective participation.4. Coordinate all aspects of the training and development process and conduct/perform key related activities so to enable the timely completion of needed training/development efforts.5. Perform and manage all employee data files to ensure their timely creation, system uploads, reporting, and/or communication to staff or other State entities.Other Duties:1. Schedules college recruiting fairs and attends, along with appropriate staff, to recruit and ultimately identify qualified intern and job applicants.2. Posts open positions and corresponds with job applicants to notify them of next steps.3. Arranges interview times, and as needed travel and lodging, for applicants.4. Provide initial telephone interview/screening to obtain work history, education, training, related job skills, salary requirements, etc. in order to refer qualified applicants to hiring manager for further consideration.5. Schedule onsite and in-person interviews. Participate in interview teams as needed.6. Maintains records and files on recruiting activity and other HR/employee information. Reports EEO and other data as required.7. Conducts new hire orientations and enters new hire data into appropriate systems. 8. Maintains organization charts as well as personnel and other employee files. 9. Track and report on time to hire metrics.10. Perform all other duties as required.
Operations Analyst
Essential Responsibilities:1. Perform and maintain budgetary accounting functions and activities in computerized accounting system (SCEIS), including accounts payables/receivables, encumbrance of funds, allocation of expenditures, and verification of accuracy/legality/approval authorization.2. Balance and reconcile monthly budgetary accounts, including preparation of budgetary reports and analysis and reporting of variances between budget and actual expenses.3. Maintain capital asset records, including internal tracking and reporting to ensure control of equipment and the disposal of surplus property.4. Perform procurement tasks and record keeping activities.5. Perform administrative/clerical support, including research and preparation of specialized reports, record retention, file management, document distribution, mail distribution, coordinating State parking, and assist with financial closing packages.6. Coordinate travel related expense tracking and payment including travel reimbursement forms, expense reports, and other travel documents and reports for economic interest purposes.7. Perform Human Resources support activities such as posting open positions, arranging applicant interview times and corresponding with job applicants, maintains records and files on recruiting activity and HR/employee information, reports EEO and other data as required, and conducts new hire orientations and enters new hire data into appropriate systems.
