He has been recognized by the Houston Chronicle at the top specialist for Mommy Makeovers and one of the top 3 plastic surgery specialists in Houston. He has received the Realself100 award – placing him in the top 2% of cosmetic providers in the nation. Dr. Basu has also published a seminal textbook on aesthetic breast surgery entitled "Cosmetic Breast Surgery" (Thieme publishers).Dr. Basu is a national leader in his field. He currently serves as President-Elect for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Previously, he has served as Board Vice President (Finance) for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Plastic Surgery Foundation. Given his expertise in patient safety in cosmetic surgery, he has served on the Board of Directors of The American Association of Accreditation for Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) – the entity that certifies the safety and quality of ambulatory surgery centers. Locally, Dr. Basu has served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery and was a partner in one of the nation’s most successful 100% physician-owned acute-care hospitals/health systems, North Cypress Medical Center. He has also developed a one-of-a-kind 11,000 square foot waterfront aesthetics center of excellence in Towne Lake, Cypress, TX that is home to Beleza Surgery Center, LLC - a stated-licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center subspecializing in aesthetic plastic surgical procedures.
