The Technical Assistance Facility to the Green Team Europe Initiative in ASEAN will enhance the EU-ASEAN partnership and reduce negative environmental impacts, as well as climate-related and disaster risks covering key areas of the European Green Deal. The Initiative will improve cooperation with and within ASEAN for developing and implementing ambitious climate policies; enhance equitable and sustainable management of regional natural capital and landscapes; promote the transition towards sustainable and climate-resilient food systems in ASEAN; and accelerate the transition towards clean energy and greater energy efficiency.

The Ai ba Futuru ('trees for the future') project aims to improve the income and employment opportunities of conflict-prone and vulnerable societal groups in the agricultural and forestry sectors of the eastern part of Timor-Leste (Manatuto, Baucau, Viqueque and Lautém municipalities). In so doing, it will make a long-term contribution to peaceful development in the country.Project measures will contribute to the more intensive use of agroforestry production systems (which involve a combination of agriculture and forestry) and their value chains. They will contribute to the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (in particular the AICHI targets 1, 7, 13 and 15) through measures that target an improvement of agro-biodiversity.

Forest Programme II: Biodiversity Conservation and Integrated Watershed Development, within the Indonesian-German REDD+ Programme (MoEF - KfW), Jambi Province & Kerinci Seblat National Park, Indonesia.A consortium of AHT Group AG, PT Hatfield Indonesia, and ECO Consulting supports the (new) Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF or KLHK) in the implementation of a 7-year, EUR 25+ million biodiversity conservation and watershed management project in the Jambi Province on Sumatra Island. The project focuses on supporting the management of the Kerinci-Seblat National Park and the improvement and rehabilitation of the upper and middle sections of the Merangi sub-watershed of the Batanghari River. The project aims at improving protection and at rehabilitating forests and forest land of communities bordering the Park. The project partners with (local) NGOs, such as FFI which established successful tiger protection units and works in villages at livelihood improvements.

Nature Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resource Management in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region Project, VietnamThis Vietnam-German Development Cooperation project supports the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) in improving National Park management planning, sustainable tourism development, integrated participative land use planning and allocation of forest land and resources in the buffer zone around the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park/World Heritage site (c. 350,000 ha), phased and conditional support to households and community groups in the buffer zone (micro-financing). The KfW Component (Financial Cooperation) in the project couples nature conservation with the sustainable development in the buffer zone around the Phong Nha- Ke Bang NP to reduce pressure on the Parks resources, in close coordination with the GIZ Component (Technical Cooperation): • park management and environmental law enforcement; • buffer zone management to maintain ecological connectivity by improving the condition of the forest and forest cultivation by means of, among other things, use and management rights for the local population; • developing community-based nature-oriented tourism.
